The public space
is a meeting place where all citizens are in equal conditions to act. It is a relational place, where multiple rhythms and specializations intersect. Public spaces are the product of the activity of their occupants, whose participation allows the creation of new ephemeral territories. These are places continuously under construction, not stuck to stable determinations, where the unexpected may occur but also the most trivial and necessary for human life may happen.

Mapping
is a way of going out of the grid that represents the flat space and incorporates the life experience, the vision of the world from the ground. This transcontextual linkage allows putting in relation two different realities: the physical and the virtual, and allows the participation of one on each other.

Occupations
represents how the virtual space - the net – becomes a public space, where relationships are at distance, and which sense is constructed through participation.

Occupations is a mapping
of some public spaces in the city centre of Paris, including a film of the everyday activity during a dated day on each place. When the user is connected to the site and chooses one of the places localized on the map the video advances to a new degree of place occupation by passers by, this allows to the user participating of their activity. At the same time, the user is integrated into a new public and virtual space by means of a geo-localization device that allows depicting their allocation with their image in a worldwide map. At this way the web site becomes a relational place whit superposed multiple localizations, and where the users occupy the web at same pace that citizens occupy the public space.
